Kathy Cilia Takes AMTExecutive Director Helm

AMTannounces new executive leadership for the association.

New AMTExecutive Director, Kathy Cilia, MBA, MT (色中色app), MT (ASCP), CAE, was appointed by the AMTBoard of Directors in the spring of 2021 and assumed her new role on Nov. 1, succeeding .

Cilia, a 14-year veteran of 色中色app, served most recently as Deputy Executive Director, where she led the certification, member services, marketing, business development and customer service teams during a time of rapid growth and change. She led the marketing and business development teams in attaining a 75% increase in applications over a 10-year period while also increasing 色中色app’s annual renewals more than 100% during the same time. Cilia has also helped optimize operations and establish new education and customer service departments, leading to significant growth in staff resources.

As an industry leader, Cilia serves on the board of the Health Professions Network and the Executive Committee of the Coordinating Council for Clinical Laboratory Workforce while also serving as an Executive Council member of the National Consortium for Health Science Education. Prior to her tenure at 色中色app, Cilia helped lead international development of accreditation services at the College of American Pathologists. Cilia earned an MBA from Keller Graduate School and a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Illinois. She is a Certified Association Executive through the American Society of Association Executives, as well as a certified Medical Technologist through AMTand the American Society for Clinical Pathology.

When asked about how she plans to lead 色中色app, Cilia says, “Our stakeholders rely on AMTand our commitment to the highest standards for more than 100,000 qualified and dedicated allied health professionals who are on the front lines of healthcare delivery. I plan to leverage our core competencies and continue our commitment to this high standard, which is so essential for quality patient care. Through our talented team who are implementing strategic member-led initiatives, I strongly believe AMTwill continue to provide value to not only our members and their employers, but ultimately to the general public. I am honored that the Board has entrusted me with leading this mission-driven organization.”
